City of Marquette operations closing to the public

MARQUETTE, MI--   Due to Executive Order 2020-21, beginning Tuesday, March 24, all City facilities will be closed to the public.

This includes City Hall, the Municipal Service Center, Fire Stations 1 and 2, the Police Department, Lakeview Arena, the Senior Center, the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Water Treatment Plant. Presque Isle Park will be closed to vehicular traffic, however pedestrian traffic is still permissible. City announcements and Commission agendas will be sent to local media and will be available online.

City operations will continue; however, the City will be operating at reduced staffing levels for the duration of the Executive Order and phone availability will be limited.

To contact the City about essential business, please prioritize electronic communication when possible. Contact information for each City Department is available at www.marquettemi.gov/departments/.

All non-essential meetings and gatherings remain canceled. This includes meetings of all City statutory and advisory boards and committees scheduled between now and April 13, unless the meetings are critical in nature. If a meeting is deemed critical in nature, City announcements will be sent at that time. This does not apply to City Commission meetings. Instructions on how to view and participate in the March 30 City Commission meeting will be published later this week.

For emergency services, please dial 911. For non-emergency police assistance, please dial 906-2280400. The Police Department will be evaluating non-emergency calls and will dispatch services accordingly.
