Three US-2 roadside facilities to close for maintenance work

ST. IGNACE, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation is closing three Mackinac County roadside facilities this week for maintenance work.

Beginning today, MDOT crews will be using heavy equipment to remove trees and brush at ‘Bridge View Scenic Overlook’, ‘Gros Cap Roadside Park’, and ‘Epoufette Scenic Overlook,’ all on US-2. The work is to remove trees and brush on the hillsides to regain views of the Straits of Mackinac and to prepare for future fence replacements.

Each facility is expected to be closed for approximately one workday, and all work is expected to be completed by Wednesday. The schedule is tentative and may be adjusted.
