A changing of the guard on the Marquette City Commission

MARQUETTE, MI— The City of Marquette has a new mayor.

Monday night, the City Commission held its annual organization meeting and elected Cody Mayer to lead the group. He replaces Jenna Smith, who served as mayor for the past three years.

Commissioner Sally Davis will serve as mayor pro-tem.

The commission also accepted Jenn Hill’s resignation at the meeting. She was chosen as Representative of the 109^th District during the midterm elections last week.

The commission has approved a process to find Hill’s replacement.
