ESCANABA, MI— An interim county administrator has been appointed in Delta County, following the firing last week of former administrator Emily DeSalvo.
The county Board of Commissioners voted this week to appoint controller Ashleigh Young to the post.
DeSalvo was fired by a 3-2 vote after she claimed some commissioners have displayed unethical behavior, specifically with termination of the county’s contract with the Delta Conservation District and elimination of the board’s Ethics Committee.
Residents continue to question the rationale for DeSalvo’s firing, saying the Board hasn’t provided a suitable reason for it.
