State Christmas tree search is on

LANSING, MI— The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget is on the hunt for the state’s next Christmas tree, and officials are asking for the public’s help.

To be considered, the tree needs to be at least a 60-foot-tall spruce or fir with a maximum crown of 24 feet and trunk diameter of 30 inches, be easily accessible by a road, and be available at no cost.

The deadline for tree nominations is August 14.

To nominate a tree, email your name, telephone number, a photo of the tree, and information about its size and location to christmastree@michigan.gov.
