Petersen 3rd Delta County Board member to face recall

ESCANABA, MI— Another commissioner on the Delta County Board is facing a recall in May.

Robert Petersen will join fellow commissioners Robert Barron and David Moyle in next year’s election.

The group Delta County Citizens for Ethical Leadership circulated petitions for the recall following the firing of County Administrator Emily DeSalvo in February. She had publicly questioned the ethical behavior of some members of the board.

Petersen filed several challenges to the petitions gathered for his recall. They were all denied.

The Delta County Clerk says 778 petitions were verified—three more than needed.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
