Plan for Negaunee land swap postponed

NEGAUNEE, MI— A land swap in the City of Negaunee is on hold.

City officials were looking to get 40 acres of land near Lily Pond in the Old Town. In return, the land’s owner—Porter Limited, LLC—would receive 40 acres near the intersection of Miller Road and Makinens Road.

But, due to legal technicalities, Porter Limited is not allowed to disclose certain details about the Old Town property to a potential buyer.

The Negaunee City Council has tabled the issue until a land swap plan that suits both sides can be finalized.
