Survey on Escanaba Master Plan update now available

ESCANABA, MI— The City of Escanaba is updating its master plan and wants to know what people in the area think.

Officials are inviting citizens to respond to a 21-question online survey and share their vision. Escanaba Planning and Zoning Administrator Tyler Anthony says the questions relate to what jobs people have; the respondents’ opinion on economic development, housing needs and costs, and city land use; why residents live in Escanaba; and what they want the city’s future to look like.

Anthony says the survey isn’t restricted just to residents.

“We want anybody and everybody to take this survey, whether you’re a resident of town or whether you’re a visitor, if you’re a longtime resident or if you’ve only been here a couple of months, please take the survey. The more information we have, the better.”

Anthony says responses will be shared with a consultant, who will create a draft document to share with the Planning Commission and City Council.

The survey will be available at least through November-1st.
