MARQUETTE, MI— The Marquette City Commission approved a city roadmap for the next 10 years at a meeting Tuesday night.
The Community Master Plan was developed over a multi-year period. It guides the city on issues like future land use, recreation, zoning, and an action plan to implement the goals and objectives of the Master Plan.
Sarah Mittlefehldt is chair of the City Planning Commission, which approved the plan on October 1. She said the amount of resident input on the plan was surprising to everyone.
“It was a very multifaceted process and the survey response for those of us who do social science research was astounding. A huge amount of feedback on that survey, lots of public forums all around town.”
The City Commission was unanimous in its approval of the Master Plan.
