ISHPEMING, MI— After several months’ hiatus, the Ishpeming City Council has resumed broadcasting its meetings.
The council streamed meetings on YouTube and aired them on local access channel 189 but decided to stop in October. Officials said harassment, threats, and misuse of content prompted the decision.
Interim City Manager Grant Getchow says the city needs to be transparent with residents. He adds not everyone is able to attend meetings in person.
Broadcasts resumed on January 15.
