HOUGHTON, Mich. - Crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be performing routine bridge inspections on the Portage Lake Lift Bridge between the cities of Houghton and Hancock from June 2nd to 4th. These inspections will require intermittent closures.
In conjunction with the routine inspection work, some test lifts may be done on the same dates. These will be performed in the evening after 7 p.m.
These inspections will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge.
