MARQUETTE, MI— The Marquette County Board needs to fill a seat, following the resignation Tuesday of Commissioner Karl Numinen.
No reason for the resignation was given at the Board’s meeting. It was a last-minute item on the agenda and effective immediately.
The Marquette County Clerk’s Office sent out a press release about the vacancy Wednesday afternoon. It said the Board may now appoint a suitable person to fill the seat. Those who are interested must be a registered voter in District 1. Resumes should be sent to the Clerk’s Office by October 20 at 4 p.m.
Whomever is appointed will fill the unexpired term until December 31, 2026.
