WELLS TOWNSHIP, MI— Firefighters were called to a brush fire in Wells Township over the weekend.
Saturday around 5:05 p.m., the Escanaba Department of Public Safety and DNR wildland firefighters were dispatched to 4151 18th Road. A burning garbage pile had gone out of control. It spread into a wooded area that contained old hay bales.
It took firefighters about two hours to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported.
The Escanaba Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
