Copper Country Angel Mission raising funds to move into better building

CALUMET, MI— A charitable organization in Calumet is looking to expand its building space.

Copper Country Angel Mission has a free store for those with material needs. It also helps people with utility shut-offs, travel for medical care, food insecurity, school backpacks and similar needs. The Mission’s current location has become too small, and officials have a purchase agreement for the old North End Bar building on Fifth Street.

Through assistance from the Portage Health Foundation and other donations, CCAM has saved enough money for a down payment but lacks the money to finish renovations begun by the previous owner.

Angel Mission has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to finish work on the building. You can find the link here, or you can visit www.ccangelmission.org.
