The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has moved Marquette County into the community level classification of “high risk” for COVID-19 transmission and infection. Reported cases in the county have risen by 44% in the past two weeks. The Marquette County Health Department is encouraging community members to follow CDC recommendations for high-risk communities to help prevent the additional spread of COVID-19 and to help protect vulnerable populations. Recommendations include wearing a mask indoors and on public transportation… stay up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccines… get tested if you have symptoms… and stay home if you are sick or are recommended to isolate or quarantine. If you are at high-risk for severe illness, contact your health care provider.
