Food pantry grants available through PHF

HANCOCK, MI— The Portage Health Foundation has issued a request for proposals focused on food pantries and food assistance grants.

Officials say community pantries and emergency food assistance programs have been challenged by increased usage. The grants aim to support the immediate funding needs of those organizations that have seen a surge in demand.

The maximum amount awarded per grant will be $2,500. Applicants must be from Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, or Ontonagon counties.

The application deadline is Monday, October 24. More information is at www.phfgive.org.
