Copper Shores Community Health Foundation incorporating services of 3 organizations

HANCOCK, MI— The Portage Health Foundation, Dial Help, and Copper Country Senior Meals are now under one umbrella.

The hybrid-operating group is now called the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation.

Michael Babcock is Director of Marketing and Communications. He says Copper Shores’ mission is to help communities in Keweenaw, Houghton, Baraga, and Ontonagon counties be healthier.

“One of the things that we’re really excited about, when we look at all these organizations together under one, is the ability to find gaps in services and programming in our community. And then not just find it, but also do something about it.”

Babcock says the new name will also remove the confusion between UPHS-Portage and the Portage Health Foundation.

Babcock notes while the name of the groups have changed, operations haven’t. They will continue to provide the same services as they have, but from a better vantage point.
