COVID temporarily shuts down Copper Shores Meals on Wheels

HANCOCK, MI— Copper Shores Meals on Wheels is closed for the remainder of the week, ending Friday.

Program Director Kathleen Harter says nearly half the staff has tested positive for COVID-19 or has similar symptoms to those who have tested positive. Homebound community members received additional meals to get them through the end of the week.

Harter says Copper Shores knows how important the daily visit from staff is, but it’s more important to make sure everyone stays healthy.

The Meals on Wheels holiday cookie sale and Wednesday night’s farmer meeting will still take place as scheduled.
