HANCOCK, MI— The Houghton, Hancock, and Calumet Farmers Markets will offer the Double Up Food Bucks Program this year.

The announcement was made by the From the Ground Farmers Market Collective, which manages the outdoor markets.

Double Up Food Bucks is designed to incentivize the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables for individuals and families using SNAP benefits. They can receive a dollar-for-dollar match on fresh fruit and vegetable purchases, up to $20 per day.

To participate, visitors need to visit the market manager or information booth and get started.

More information about the program is at www.doubleupfoodbucks.org.
