Gwinn High School to benefit from federal grant

GWINN, MI--   The health center at Gwinn High School will be expanded, thanks to a federal grant.

The Marquette County Health Department is getting $500,000 through the School-Based Health Center Capital Program, a competitive initiative authored by Senator Debbie Stabenow.

The money will be used for needed equipment, construction, and renovation at the Gwinn Adolescent Health Clinic.  It gives students access to primary medical and mental health care within the school building.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
