MARQUETTE, MI-- Officials with U.P. Health System Marquette updated city officials on plans for a new hospital on Baraga Avenue.
UPHS Market President Jim Bogan told the City Commission Monday night the 265-bed building will cost more than $300 million to construct. Groundbreaking is set for May 1 of next year, and should take about 28 months to complete. Completion is scheduled for early 2018.
Bogan says UPHS is moving forward with finalizing the purchase agreement, site approval, and making public the site plans.
