New CEO selected for UPHS Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   UP Health System Marquette has a new CEO.

W. Trent Crable will take over the top spot effective October 19.  He comes to Marquette from Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, where he served as CEO since August 2014.

“After conducting a nationwide search, we are delighted to introduce Trent to the Marquette community and the entire UP region,” UPHS Market President James Bogan says. “Trent is a veteran hospital administrator who brings decades of proven executive leadership experience and achievement to UP Health System Marquette. We are confident his strong and steady leadership qualities are the right fit for both our hospital and our community.”

Prior to Youngstown Crable served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.  He also served as COO and later CEO of George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Crable replaces Bogan, who has served as interim CEO since the departure of former UPHS CEO Ed Banos in June.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
