Autism seminar to focus on diagnosis and referrals

MARQUETTE, MI--   Northern Michigan University is partnering with Wayne State and Central Michigan Universities to present a training session about screening for autism.

Autism Spectrum Disorder: Best Practices in Screening, Referral and Behavioral Health Interventions aims to enable health care workers to better understand the symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder, identify concerns early, and make referrals with conviction.  It features presentations from two Wayne State University behaviorists. 

The event will be simulcast live from Central Michigan University in Northern’s School of Health and Human Performance Library – Room 109 from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.  It’s free and open to the public.
