PPE donation site set up in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette County Emergency Management has set up a personal protective equipment donation site for those working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emergency Management Coordinator Theresa Schwalbach says the county has received PPE from the state and donations from residents and agencies, but more is still needed.

Items in short supply include:

  • Medical gowns (ideally medical grade)
  • Medical gloves (ideally medical grade, all sizes)
  • N-95 masks
  • Surgical masks
  • Shoe covers (booties)
  • Hand sanitizer

A donation drop-off site has been established at the main entrance of the Westwood Mall in Marquette. Residents are asked to pull up to the front entrance and someone will take the donation.
Marquette County Emergency Management has been working with Team Rubicon, Region V, in collecting and organizing donations. Team Rubicon’s mission is providing disaster relief to those affected by natural disasters by pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals and technology solutions.

Hours this week are Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For more information follow the donation Facebook page at Facebook.com/mqtcountycoviddonations.
