MARQUETTE, MI--   New coronavirus cases continue to be identified in Michigan, but the daily numbers aren’t as high as they have been.

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday the total number of positive cases in the state was 48,021, with 4,674 deaths reported.

In the Upper Peninsula 99 COVID-19 cases have been identified and 15 people have died. That number includes two deaths over the weekend at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
