Coronavirus case update

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Upper Peninsula this weekend.

The first was Saturday in Marquette County; the other was Sunday in Gogebic County. They bring the total number of U.P. cases to 102. Fifteen deaths have been reported.

As of 3 p.m. Sunday the state says 51,142 people had contracted COVID-19 and 4,891 people had died.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
