More UP coronavirus cases identified

MARQUETTE, MI--   Cases of COVID-19 continue to pop up in the Upper Peninsula. 

Two new Marquette County cases were identified through testing at NMU’s Berry Events Center the weekend of June 13. The Marquette County Health Department says there were actually four positives, but one was from out-of-state and another a repeat positive.

The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department is reporting a new coronavirus case in Iron County, bringing the total for that county to five active cases.

The entire Upper Peninsula has reported a total of 144 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 16 deaths.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
