Several coronavirus cases pop up in Chippewa County

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI--   The Chippewa County Health Department says it has identified seven new cases of COVID-19.

As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday nine cases have been confirmed and one is listed as “probable.” Of those cases, three have recovered and seven are active.

The health department says cases of COVID-19 have rapidly increased over the past four days in the county. Officials are reminding the community to practice social distancing, wear a mask in public places, and disinfect commonly used surfaces often.

They say as the holiday weekend approaches it is imperative that residents take responsibility to protect themselves and their loved ones.
