Visitor restrictions in effect again at UPHS hospitals

MARQUETTE, MI--   UPHS-Marquette and UPHS-Bell are once again banning most visitors to their hospitals.

UP Health System Market President Gar Atchison says the Upper Peninsula is starting to see an uptick in COVID-19 cases. On Wednesday the U.P. was designated a “medium-risk” area on the state’s MI Safe Start Map.

Atchison says while the hospitals haven’t seen an increase of coronavirus patients, officials want to be proactive to keep patients and employees safe.

The hospitals will continue to screen everyone who enters the facilities. All individuals will be required to wear a face covering.
