UP coronavirus numbers

MARQUETTE, MI--   Eleven new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the Upper Peninsula Monday.

Dickinson County reported three new cases; Marquette and Delta counties reported two; and one new case each was listed for Chippewa, Mackinac, Houghton and Menominee counties.

The total number of positives at Northern Michigan University stands at 48. That breaks down into five employees, 19 off-campus students, and 24 on-campus students.

As of Tuesday afternoon a total of 1,160 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the U.P. Nineteen people have died.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
