MARQUETTE, MI— Northern Michigan University is reviewing its mask policy Monday.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently said people in areas of the country that have low or medium numbers of COVID-19 cases don’t have to wear a mask indoors. Marquette County is currently rated a “medium” transmission area.
But students have come back from Spring Break and university officials continue to require masks when inside NMU facilities; however, the school’s COVID Advisory Group meets Monday and will review case numbers. At that time, officials will consider whether changes will be made to the current mask protocol.
