Chartis Center recognizes UPHS-Bell as Critical Access Hospital

ISHPEMING, MI— UPHS-Bell has been recognized as a 2024 Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by the Chartis Center for Rural Health.

The program recognizes outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX.

Using publicly available data, the INDEX is utilized by rural hospitals, health systems with rural affiliates, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health. It measures and monitors performance across a variety of areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
