UGL awarded perfect score during DHH site visit

MARQUETTE, MI— Upper Great Lakes Family Health has been awarded a rare perfect score across its U.P. health clinics.

It was achieved in February during this year’s operational site visit by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, Bureau of Primary Health Care. The visits are conducted every three years.

It’s an extensive audit broken into three major categories: Clinical/Quality, Governance/Administration, and Fiscal Management. Nationally, only a few community health center organizations have received the honor.

UGL has 12 clinics across the U.P. It’s a non-profit, patient-governed, and taxpayer-supported organization designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
