U.P. Paper makes donation of medical training aids to Manistique Public Safety

UP Paper LLC

Manistique, MI - U-P Paper has donated medical training aids to the Manistique Public Safety Department. The mill donated 4-adult CPR manikins with LED red light feedback capabilities. Police also received 4-Red Cross AED trainers with adult and child capabilities… and 2-instructor backpacks filled with other training materials. The donations aim to assist Public Safety staff with training personnel and the community in how to do CPR. Department Director Tim Russell says more than 350-thousand incidents of cardiac arrest happen outside of hospitals each year. If performed immediately, CPR has been shown to double or triple the chance of survival.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
