Boil water advisory issued for portions of Escanaba

ESCANABA, MI— The City of Escanaba has issued a boil water advisory for certain areas due to a water main break.

The advisory affects residents in the following blocks:

• 1000, 1100, 1200, and 1300 blocks of 3^rd Avenue North
• 1500 block of 3^rd Avenue North
• 200 and 300 blocks of North 14^th Street
• 100, 200, and 300 blocks of North 13^th Street
• 1200 and 1300 blocks of 1^st Avenue North
• 1200 and 1300 blocks of Ludington Street
• 440 North 10^th Street

All tap water should be boiled for 5 full minutes before drinking, making ice cubes, brushing teeth, washing foods, or any other activity involving the consumption of water.

Once work on the water mains is complete, they will be flushed and tested for bacteria. Each affected resident will be notified with a green door hanger when the water is safe to drink.
