Second Drug Take Back Day of the year on Saturday

UNDATED— The Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring the 27^th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.

The biannual event offers free, anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at more than 4,000 local drop-off locations nationwide.

The Department of Justice says drug overdose deaths claim more than 300 lives every day. A majority of those who misused a prescription medication obtained the drug from a family member or friend.

Take Back Day is being held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A collection site locator can be found at www.deatakeback.com.
