UNDATED— The Drug Enforcement Administration is sponsoring the 27th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.
The biannual event offers free, anonymous disposal of unneeded medications at more than 4,000 local drop-off locations nationwide.
The Department of Justice says drug overdose deaths claim more than 300 lives every day. A majority of those who misused a prescription medication obtained the drug from a family member or friend.
Take Back Day is being held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A collection site locator can be found at www.deatakeback.com.
