Marshfield and Sanford merge to become one health system

UNDATED— Sanford Health and Marshfield Clinic Health System have completed their merger.

The nonprofit integrated health system will operate as Sanford Health.

The Marshfield Clinic region is a new health services delivery region of Sanford Health that will continue to serve communities in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula. Sanford Health Plan and Security Health Plan will continue current operations under a common management reporting and governance structure.

The combined system will serve patients in South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wyoming, Iowa, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The organization includes nearly 56,000 employees and 56 hospitals.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
