MARQUETTE, MI— The Drug Enforcement Administration is reminding people about National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday.
Officials say it’s a safe, responsible way to dispose of unused, unwanted, or expired medications. Flushing them can contaminate the water supply and have a lasting effect on the environment. Children, pets, or even wildlife can accidentally ingest medications that are thrown out.
Various police and medical agencies around Michigan will accept medications for proper disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To find your nearest drop-off site, go to www.dea.gov.
