MAST members at UPHS-Marquette reach tentative contract agreement

MARQUETTE, MI— Techs at UPHS-Marquette have reached a tentative agreement with hospital administration.

Marquette Ancillary Staff and Technologists—or MAST—members are part of the Michigan Nurses Association union. They’ve been negotiating since March and had bargaining sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The MNA says the agreement includes guaranteed wage increases of 18.75 percent over four years and three months, a switch to the same health insurance that hospital RNs receive, and improved language around incentive shifts.

The contract still needs to be approved by MAST members. The vote will take place September 11.

Hospital nurses are voting on their own tentative contract right now.
