Marquette to hold parade, tree lighting Friday night

MARQUETTE, MI— Residents can say hello to Santa during Marquette’s annual holiday parade Friday evening.

The Downtown Marquette Winter Snow Fun Holiday Parade begins at 6 p.m. on Third Street. It will travel south down Third from Fair Avenue towards the Marquette Commons, where the tree lighting ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

The Marquette Post Office will collect letters for Santa during the parade and also at the tree lighting.

Officials say it’s a great way to celebrate the holiday season.
