Do Good in the Copper Country to honor volunteerism

dogoodcc.org

HANCOCK, MI— The Portage Health Foundation will honor volunteerism through a new program called Do Good in the Copper Country.

It will celebrate one nominated volunteer each month and connect volunteers with opportunities in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties. Organizations or events looking for help can submit their opportunities on the Do Good website at www.dogoodcc.org.

Foundation Director of Marketing and Communications, Michael Babcock, says volunteering is vital to the region’s success, and Do Good is a way to honor the people who give their time.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
