Holiday "Tow to Go" program aims to prevent impaired driving

AAA

DEARBORN, MI— AAA is activating its “Tow to Go” program over the holidays to keep drunk drivers off the road.

From 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday, January 2, the auto club will provide transportation for would-be impaired drivers and their vehicle. When someone calls the number, AAA will dispatch a tow truck to take the driver and vehicle to a safe location within a 10-mile radius.

The service is free for anyone, but officials ask that it be treated as a last resort.

The number is 855-2-TOW-2-GO or 855-286-9246.

Nationwide, AAA expects this to be the third-busiest year for holiday travel on the roads.
