Yoopers United volunteer winner named

MARQUETTE, MI— The United Way of Marquette County has announced the winner of the Yoopers United Summer Volunteer Program.

The program aimed to encourage Marquette County residents to get involved in volunteerism.

Grace Kilbane was selected the winner of the grand prize. She volunteered for Great Lakes Recovery Centers' Run for Recovery and Marquette County Habitat for Humanity's Women Build.

The program also awarded prizes to six weekly winners.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
