Copper Shores crisis line to shut down

HANCOCK, MI— The Copper Shores Community Foundation crisis line formerly known as “Dial Help” is being discontinued.

Officials say it was a difficult decision for staff to make, but calls the line used to receive are now going elsewhere. Local call volume has decreased by more than 85 percent in the last seven years. They say short, easy-to-remember numbers like the national suicide hotline 988 have grown in prevalence and there are hotlines for both specific audiences and specific trauma.

The Copper Shores Crisis Line will be active through May 31st. A list of resources and call centers available to the community is at www.coppershores.org/resources.
