Food and candy cane drive to be held in Gladstone this weekend

GLADSTONE, MI— Firefighters from the Gladstone area will gather food donations during the yearly Christmas Candy Cane/Canned Food Drive on Sunday.

From 5 to 8 p.m., personnel from Gladstone Public Safety, the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department, and the Escanaba Township Fire Department will hand out candy canes in the community. In exchange, they’ll collect items for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.

Residents are asked to have their exterior lights on so volunteers can give them a candy cane and provide holiday cheer.

Those who wish to donate without personal contact can put their donations on their porches or near the front of their residence.
