MARQUETTE, MI— A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday on a project to expand and renovate the St. Vincent de Paul store in Marquette.

A successful capital campaign will allow officials to construct a 1,344-square-foot addition to the building and renovate the existing facility. The project includes a new gathering space that will provide room for educational events, conferences, and community programming.

Additional improvements include a new canopy for donation drop-offs at the front of the building, roof renovations, and updated restrooms.

Officials say the improvements will allow for expanded services and the ability to serve more neighbors in need.
