CALUMET, MI— The Keweenaw Health Foundation has awarded a $25,000 grant to the CLK Early Childhood Center to build a playground for daycare and preschool children.
The youngest learners currently share a playground with older students, which limits their access to age-appropriate equipment. The new playground will provide a separate space equipped with features specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of young children, offering opportunities for active play, exploration, imagination, and social interaction.
The project includes the purchase and installation of playground equipment such as swings, climbing structures, slides, and interactive play features. Foundation funding will directly support the acquisition of the playground equipment that will become the centerpiece of the new outdoor learning environment.
