UPDATE: Downed power lines force closure of Garden Township road

UPDATE: 00.25 Road in Garden Township is now open to one lane of travel north of the city of Garden and 19.5 Lane.

Crews continue to repair power lines.

Police advise residents to stay home and avoid that section of the roadway.

GARDEN TOWNSHIP, MI— Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post say 00.25 Road is currently closed between 19.5 Lane and 17th Road in Garden Township.

Inclement winter weather has brought down multiple power poles, which are now blocking the roadway. Cloverland Electric crews are at the scene the repair the damage. The Garden Township Fire Department is assisting troopers with traffic control.

Officials are advising residents to stay home and avoid that section of the road.
