Marquette County roads flooded by heavy rains

Irontown Pasties

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— Torrential rains last night flooded roads and created washouts in Marquette County.

Up to a foot of water inundated streets in Negaunee and Ishpeming. County Road 510 in Negaunee Township was washed away at the Noquemanon Trailhead, around three miles north of where the dirt road begins. It’s closed up to the Red Road.

Flooding has also damaged County Road 550 near Wetmore Landing. The Marquette County Road Commission has reduced the roadway to one lane of traffic and closed Harlow Lake Road.

For the latest information on affected roads, call the Marquette County Road Commission at 906-486-4491.
