Blizzard conditions make for hazardous driving in Houghton, Keweenaw counties

COPPER COUNTRY, MI— Michigan State Police are urging drivers to be extremely careful while driving in the Keweenaw.

MSP, the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies have responded to crashes and multiple vehicles in the ditch on US-41 between Calumet and Hancock.

Police say drivers should consider using M-26 as an alternate route if travel is necessary between Hancock and Calumet.

A blizzard warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Friday.
